Standard drops, duck meat rather dry, lacks flavour, wont order again.

This is a famous roast meat joint. Tried their roast meat, char siew and roast duck. Tasted pretty average to me. I had better roast meat in neighborhood coffee shops.It wasn't bad but not enough to justify the famous name and the slightly higher price.

V dissapointed with the Roast offered at this so-call famous shop. Roast duck is dry, meat is not tender and skin is not crispy. Roast pork skin isn't crispy at all. Char siew is not too bad, but not tender. And the worst thing that happened to me is how the stall owner tried to market their food price at a reasonable price but when footing the bill only to know u hve to pay about 3 times the earlier stated price - ripped off! Thumbs down. Pls give it a miss, go elsewhere for better roast and honest pricing.

Tasty roast meats. Clean place. Fast service.

The sauce are poured like soup on top of rice. The meat is so hard that I almost have to use my hands to separate it. Wouldn't recommend it

Definitely the best roast meat and rice around. But I guess they can consider moving to a bigger place with more parking.The location is a nightmare. Their price also.

Had a friend who said it's not worth the price, tested it out, and ya... not worth the price now.Few years ago, it was so juicy and awesome, but when i tried, it was quite hard and dry.. sad... :(

great place for roasted meat rice! portion is a little small, which lead to me needing a second helping.Meat in my first plate was amazing; tender and fatty.. however, the second plate is more on the tougher side.inconsistent but still good.

Good old flavours of the Roast Meats. Especially the duck & char siew. All cooked on site. But the hidden gems are the double boiled soups. Overall, yummy food with lots of special meat sauce besides the usual chilli sauce.

Somehow, not as tasty as a couple of years back. But if you like thick cut and dark char siew, you don't have too many alternatives anyway.

Really like the black char siew here! Paid $16 for this platter which I think is quite pricey.

Fantastic roost meat if your like the dark style. Very very tasty and tend to be sweet. Roast duck, roast pork and Cha siew all good to tey.

Maybe expectations are high. It is good for the charsiew but I have taster better ones.

Completely undesirable.. I really really hated it.. there's nothing roasted about it, it seemed more like boiled pork meat over wantan noodles, you get this weird strong porky taste, in a very unpleasant manner.. $5 a plate for roast pork noodles, no thanks.. don't waste money here

Great Roasted Pork. Price is slightly higher but love the food.

Comfort food. Tasty plate of char siew rice. They have duck and roast pork too but the char siew is best. In the past the char siew used to be more succulent and was more candied. Since it got bought over it no longer tastes the same. Edges are not as crunchy and the pork is harder.Nevertheless still makes for a satisfying meal and affordable prices.The range and quality of soup still remains excellent.

This is my 2nd time and i am here due to a craving of their black char siew. So despite of the 3 stars, i like to first say that their char siew is indeed better than the average ones we have at normal hawkers, which explains my craving for them. That being said, the price is a main factor why they cant get 5 stars and on top of that, the char siew is on the fatty side. And although i do like fatty char siew, its abit too oily and u can get sick of it fast (肥又腻). Is this still a good eatery? Probably yes if u really love the fatty meat and dont mind paying a higher price for typical hawker fare.

The dark char siew has lost its old owner’s taste and texture. Less chunky n juicy. It’s still good but no Long excellent.

Not sure what happened to this place. What used to be featured in so many articles and blogs now is just nothing compared to a hawker standard roast meat store. The char siew was so hard and hard to chew and bite. Nor was there any char fragrance smell to it or a tinge of sweetness to the meat. Prices are crazy high at $6/7 for a plate of pathetic char siew with rice. Only good thing was the good service of the staff. Otherwise pls just go to any other normal foodcourt or hawker store n don't waste your money here

In spite of many bad reviews on Google, i decided to give it a try since it is very near to my place.I ordered a charsiew noodle and it is surprisingly good. Their char siew is chewy and not very fatty, which suit my palate very much. I feel less sinful as it is not so fatty. I also like the noodle, it has a good bouncy texture.I didn't put any hope on their service attitude after reading so many bad reviews on Google. But to my surprise, their service is very friendly. I reckon it is my good luck.Definitely will come back for their charsiew noodle again.

Took a plate of mixed roasted pork with warm water chestnut drink at$6.50 which I considered reasonably priced.

Ordered the char siew and roasted pork. The char siew meat flavour is delicious. It is coated with this thick sweet sticky sauce and has a bit of smokey burnt taste to it. But the meat itself is a bit tough and dry. To be fair, probably because they gave me the lean meat and not the fatty part.The roasted pork is good as well, *solid man*. The meat is soft and tender and the skin is crispy. So crispy that it's *solid* like a rock *man* lol. Soak it in your soup to soften it up, otherwise you will need a new replacement for your false dentures lol *joking*. Overall I think it's above average, and it's not overly expensive as what others claim. I paid approximately $16 for two plates including drinks. Highly recommend if you're around the area!

Nicely gazed fatty roast pork. Roast duck drum stick is delicious too. The lotus soup is surprising tasty. Abit pricey compare other places selling the same food, but worth to try!

Brought there by a friend and immediately fall in love with the Char Siew Noodle. Do take note to ask for non-fatty Char Siew for pple who are health conscious.

Ordered via GrabFood. Everything was overly salty. Had high expectations but really felt let down.

Their roast pork taste pretty good. They also have this nice sweet sauce (somewhat like ginger paste sauce thing, but not ginger)

Good local traditional taste. A little on the pricier side. But a good place to get consistent good meats

Quite happy with the char siew. It was moist, wonderfully dark and fatty without being too cloying. The roast pork was above average too, with good crunchiness. The duck was nice but not outstanding. Would definitely come back for the pork items. Reasonably priced.

Friendly staff and delicious char siew. Roast duck drumstick is also recommended. It might be a little pricey, but it's still worth a try.

No menu to view, have to stand at cashier counter to see the prices before ordering which is uncomfortable when people behind waiting and staff waiting for you. So I just quickly ordered mixed meat, nearly not enough cash (which would be so embarrassing and no ATM nearby to withdraw) when the price was beyond my expectation of a slightly above food court price. Tastes average.

$25 for a 3 combo meat set, for 2 pax, is expensive. Taste slightly above average, at best. Not worth it..... Won't be back.

The charsiew is the only commendable meat. The roasted pork and duck was ok and many other places serve better roasted crispy pork. Queues can be unhealthy and long especially under the sweltering heat of Singapore's afternoon sun! Overall I ate better roasted meats else where.

Before they sold out was doing 2 times a month there for a period of time... still ok but not exactly the favourite as the consistency is not as great as before. But today the char siew was great! And the roasted meat looks good. And the duck... have not tried for some time. Chilli remains good and so is the sauce but missed the softer rice.. enjoy.

Used to have one of the best roast meat. Looks like the quality has dropped.. Taste is average. You can get a better roast mean somewhere else. Quality needs to be checked.

Yeah. Used to be the king of Cantonese Roasts in the Paya Lebar area - 15 years ago. So all the million dollar takeover and ensuing publicity was just, publicity. To be fair theirs is still a few notches above the rest. So maybe high tech and modern management got in the way of sweaty traditions. The old adage: if it ain't broken don't fix it is true here. Also franchising does kill off culinary pedigrees.

Char Shew is bad and roast duck is normal

Quality of the food is legit. As for the quantity for the price, it's a bit high compare to normal red coloured char siew rice plate. But definitely a place to try out for the charred coated flavour that closely resembles smoked brisket in western cooking.

portions are small, standard is dropping, price still expensive. will stop patronising from now on. there are other better options
